Hello guys, I have been thinking about this lately and decided I should ask. I asked about it in a reddit and Quora but did not get a satisfactory answer. I notice Disney’s live action Ariel meet and greets are temporary instead of being made permanent. Does anyone have an idea about this? Thank you in advance.

Honestly, I think Disney keeps the live action Ariel meet and greets temporary to test fan reaction. Live action characters are newer and don’t have the same long-term attachment as the animated ones yet. Making it temporary gives Disney flexibility without committing permanently if interest drops.
As a fan, it’s a bit disappointing 😕 Ariel is such an iconic character, and the live action version brought something fresh. Making it temporary feels like Disney underestimating how much fans actually connect with her. I wish they’d listen more to guest feedback.
From a business point of view, temporary meet and greets make sense. Live action costumes, performers, and scheduling are more expensive. Disney probably rotates them to control costs and keep experiences feeling “special” rather than every day.
