Please i'm a student of University for Development Studies and have recently bought a smartphone and laptop. I'm currently not doing great financially. Does anybody know which games pay real money in Ghana? I would appreciate your response. Thanks.

Honestly, if you are looking for a game where you just sit down, play for two hours and automatically get good money in this country, I wouldn't put my hopes there.
There are games and gaming opportunities that can give you rewards, but the money is usually small unless you are very good at the game or you turn gaming into something bigger.
For example, you can make money through gaming competitions, creating gaming content, streaming, or even testing games and giving feedback.
My advice is don't download every app you see advertising “play games and make $100 daily.” Most of those things are either exaggerated or not worth your time.
If you are a student with a laptop, I would actually combine gaming with another online skill. Gaming alone can be difficult to depend on.

I have seen plenty of adverts saying “play games and earn real money.” The problem is that some of them make it look like you are earning huge amounts, but when you actually try to withdraw, there is always one problem or another.
Some platforms also ask you to deposit money before you can withdraw your supposed earnings. Don't do that.
There are legitimate reward systems and gaming competitions, but if somebody tells you to send money first before you can receive the money you have already earned, that's a big red flag. The FTC has warned about exactly this type of gamified scam.
For me, I would rather use gaming to build an audience or skill than chase random “earn money” games.

As a student, I understand why you're asking this because sometimes you just need some small money for data, food and other things. 😂
I wouldn't completely depend on games for income though.
If you enjoy gaming, you can look at competitive gaming, gaming content, game reviews and game testing. If you become really good at a particular game, competitions can also become an opportunity.
The good thing is that you already have a smartphone and laptop, so you have the basic equipment to start exploring the gaming space.
Just don't expect your first month to give you serious money. Start small and learn.

The mistake people make is thinking that the only way to make money from gaming is by playing the game itself.
That's not true.
Think about it. If you are good at a particular game, you can create tutorials. You can make funny clips. You can review games. You can teach beginners. You can build a gaming page on social media.
Eventually, your audience can become more valuable than the game itself.
There are also people who make money through game testing and feedback. Gaming-related work can therefore be much bigger than simply sitting down and playing.
So yes, gaming can make you money, but sometimes the money comes around the game, not directly from the game.

If you are genuinely good at gaming, then I would look into competitive gaming.
Some competitions offer prizes to winners, but you have to understand that this is based on skill. You can't just download a game today and expect to start making money tomorrow.
You need to practice, understand the game and compete against people who may have been playing for years.
There is also a lot more to competitive gaming than people think. You can build a name for yourself and later get opportunities through content creation, sponsorships or other gaming-related work.
So, if gaming is something you already enjoy, take it seriously and see where it can take you.

Since you have a laptop, I would actually suggest you look beyond “games that pay.”
There are gaming companies that need people to test games and report bugs or give feedback. That's different from simply playing games for entertainment.
You basically use the game, find problems, explain what happened and give feedback to the developers.
You can also learn some basic programming and eventually move into game development yourself.
That is a much better long-term plan in my opinion.
Imagine starting as someone who just wanted to earn money from games and eventually becoming the person who builds the games.

If you have a personality and you enjoy talking, I would seriously consider gaming content.
You don't even need an expensive setup at the beginning.
Start with your phone and laptop. Record gameplay, make short videos, explain tricks, review games or simply entertain people.
The first few videos may get almost no views. That's normal.
But if you consistently create useful or entertaining content, you can build an audience. From there, there are different ways content creators can earn money.
So instead of asking “which game will pay me?”, I would ask:
“Which game can I build an audience around?”
That question can take you much further.
